This Privacy Policy describes how Balaji Travels ("we", "us"), Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, collects and uses information through our mobile applications Balaji Travels Madurai Taxi (customer app) and Balaji Driver (driver app), and our website booking.balajitrip.com.

Information we collect

• Contact information: name and mobile number, used to create your account, verify you via WhatsApp OTP, and contact you about your bookings.
• Location data: with your permission, the customer app uses your device location to suggest your pickup point, and the driver app shares the driver's live location during active trips so customers can track their ride. Location is collected only while the app is in use.
• Booking details: pickup and drop locations, trip dates, vehicle selection, and fare details required to provide the taxi service.
• Payment information: payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details. We store only the payment reference ID and amount.
• Driver documents (driver app only): driving license, vehicle registration, insurance, permit, and driver photograph, collected to verify drivers and comply with transport regulations.

How we use information

• To provide and manage taxi bookings, live trip tracking, and trip OTP verification
• To send booking confirmations, driver details, OTPs, and invoices via WhatsApp
• To process advance payments and driver wallet transactions via Razorpay
• To generate GST invoices for completed trips
• To verify driver identity and documents

Information sharing

We share information only as needed to provide the service: your name, pickup/drop locations, and phone number are shared with your assigned driver; the driver's name, phone, vehicle number, and live location are shared with the customer during a trip. Payments are processed by Razorpay (see Razorpay's privacy policy). We use Google Maps services for addresses and distances (see Google's privacy policy). We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Data retention

Booking records and invoices are retained as required for accounting and legal compliance under Indian law. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us; we will delete data not legally required to be retained.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on secured servers. Passwords are stored using one-way encryption. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel.

Permissions used by the apps

• Location — pickup suggestions (customer) and live trip tracking (driver)
• Camera / Photos (driver app) — uploading driver and vehicle documents
• Phone — calling the driver, customer, or support directly from the app

Our services are intended for users aged 18 and above.
